Geek+ Expands Goods-to-Person Automation

E-commerce fulfillment, large-scale order picking, and third-party logistics operations increasingly rely on mobile robotics to maintain speed and accuracy as order volumes rise. At Arvato’s 48,000-square-meter logistics center in Poznań, a new Goods-to-Person (GTP) system developed by Geekplus supports these needs by automating rack transport and reducing manual travel during picking tasks.

Automating Rack Movement for Faster Order Processing
The system uses a fleet of Geekplus P800 mobile robots that carry entire racks to ergonomically designed workstations. This approach aligns with validated principles of GTP automation—namely that reducing walking distance and presenting items directly to operators can significantly improve throughput while lowering physical strain. Because racks are moved rather than individual items, storage density can be increased without compromising accessibility.

Supporting Growth in a Rapidly Expanding Market
The deployment takes place as Poland continues to record strong e-commerce growth, making efficient fulfillment capacity a priority for logistics providers. In response, many 3PLs are adopting mobile robotic systems to manage volume fluctuations and maintain consistent service levels across diverse product categories. Arvato’s implementation reflects this broader shift toward flexible automation in high-growth regions.

Strengthening Regional Robotics Strategy
The Poznań installation is part of a long-term Geekplus strategy to expand its presence in Poland, now one of its most significant European markets. By combining mobile robotics with established warehouse processes, the company aims to help logistics operators scale output while maintaining predictable performance during peak periods.
