Decentralised DC power and wireless charging for intralogistics

Material-handling equipment increasingly distributes electronics across conveyors, shuttles and autonomous vehicles, requiring power close to the load rather than in central cabinets. In this context, PULS will present decentralised field power supplies and industrial wireless charging solutions at IntraLogisteX 2026 in Birmingham, from 18th to 19th March.

Power supplies installed directly on the machine
The FIEPOS field power supply portfolio now spans 94 W to 1400 W, adding 100 W and 200 W low-power classes and a 1400 W high-power version alongside existing 360 W and 600 W models. The units target intralogistics, factory automation, storage systems, robotics and conveyor technology.

Designed for decentralised architectures, the supplies can be mounted in the field without additional enclosures. Protection ratings up to IP67 allow operation in dusty or wet environments. Local control is supported, with optional IO-Link communication for integration into automation networks within a digital supply chain.

Providing 24 V and 48 V DC near actuators reduces cable length and cabinet requirements while supporting modular machine layouts.

Contactless charging for mobile robotics
PULS will also demonstrate wireless charging technology from its Wiferion unit for AGVs and AMRs. The system transfers energy without physical connectors, reducing wear and alignment constraints in mobile platforms.

Removing manual charging connections allows automated charging cycles during operation pauses, increasing availability and simplifying fleet operation planning.

Deployment considerations for automation engineers
The exhibition focuses on system sizing, installation strategy and integration of distributed power architectures. Combining decentralised DC supply with wireless charging supports scalable automation layouts where fixed infrastructure and mobile equipment operate together under continuous duty conditions.
