Murrelektronik and montratec are intensifying their collaboration to realize innovative solutions for modern intralogistics and production environments. The focus of the cooperation is on the intelligent networking of flexible transport systems with powerful, decentralized automation technology. While montratec provides highly flexible, modular conveyor technology with its montrac® system, Murrelektronik contributes its expertise in decentralized installation, industrial communication, and end-to-end data connectivity. The objective is to create scalable automation architectures directly in the field, significantly reducing engineering, installation, and commissioning efforts.
Field-level automation through decentralized technology
The technological approach utilizes scalable architecture concepts to reduce complexity. The use of technologies such as IO-Link Daisy Chain enables more compact installations and facilitates the expansion of existing systems. This is complemented by Murrelektronik's network technologies, such as Xelity Wave Pro, which make industrial communication structures robust and future-proof. This wireless technology, optimized for field use, enables the wireless transmission of Ethernet-based protocols, including PROFINET, PROFIsafe, EtherNet/IP, CIP Safety, OPC UA, and MQTT. Featuring 0 ms roaming and an IP65-rated design, the system ensures uninterrupted communication in dynamic material flow environments.

Scalable concepts for intralogistics
The modularity of the montrac® conveyor technology harmonizes with the approach of Murrelektronik’s Vario-X control system. This combination allows for precise control and scaling of material flows without requiring extensive intervention in existing structures. The decentralized architecture enables system concepts to be implemented faster and adapted flexibly to changing production conditions.
Dr. Ulrich Viethen, CEO of Murrelektronik, emphasizes the added value: "This co-creation consistently brings conveyor technology and automation together, reduces complexity in the field, and creates a flexible, scalable foundation for modern intralogistics solutions." Sven Worm, Vice President New Markets at montratec, adds: "In combination with Murrelektronik's technology, we are creating solutions that are particularly easy to integrate and offer users more freedom in terms of layout, scaling, and the efficient operation of their intralogistics."
