Warehouse logistics operations such as distribution centers, retail storage, and industrial supply chains require compact material-handling vehicles capable of operating efficiently in narrow aisles while maintaining operator safety and productivity. Linde Material Handling has introduced a new series of reach trucks, the Ri14 to Ri18, designed for standard warehouse applications with low- to medium-intensity operation.
The new models will be presented at LogiMAT 2026 (March 24–26) in Stuttgart, Germany, where the company will showcase the vehicles’ compact design, lithium-ion power system, and integrated safety features for material-handling environments including the food, automotive, and chemical industries.
Compact design improves maneuverability in narrow aisles
The new reach trucks combine a compact chassis and integrated lithium-ion battery, enabling efficient maneuvering in confined warehouse layouts. With a total vehicle length of 1,215 mm, a turning radius of 2,709 mm (AST), and lifting heights reaching up to 11 meters, the trucks are designed to maximize storage capacity utilization in rack systems or block storage environments.
The models support load capacities from 1.4 to 1.8 tonnes, making them suitable for tasks such as pallet storage, order replenishment, and goods transport within warehouse facilities.
Optional PowerDrive and PowerLift performance packages allow operators to increase handling efficiency. These upgrades raise travel speed by approximately 18% and lifting speed by 16%, supporting higher throughput during material-handling operations.
Lithium-ion power system supports continuous warehouse operation
The reach trucks use an integrated lithium-ion battery with 14.3 kWh capacity, providing energy-efficient operation and reducing maintenance compared with traditional battery systems. For applications requiring longer operating times, the trucks can be equipped with a 21.4 kWh battery.
A spare lithium-ion battery option is also available for multi-shift operations, helping maintain vehicle availability in continuous warehouse environments.
The trucks feature Linde Load Control, which enables precise mast movement during storage and retrieval operations, while the Linde dual pedal control system allows operators to regulate travel direction and speed with minimal hand movement.
Integrated safety systems protect operators and infrastructure
Safety systems integrated into the vehicles are designed to protect operators, loads, and warehouse infrastructure. A key feature is the standard hydraulic load wheel braking system, which ensures short braking distances regardless of load weight or mast position.
Additional safety features include Linde Curve Assist, which automatically adjusts driving speed based on steering angle when the truck enters a curve, helping improve stability during maneuvering.
Optional systems provide additional operational protection. These include a reinforced glass roof, shoulder guard protection, the Linde Safety Guard collision warning system, and a Rack Protection Sensor that helps prevent damage to storage racks during lifting or maneuvering operations.
Ergonomic workstation reduces operator fatigue
The operator workspace is designed to improve comfort during extended shifts. The driver’s workstation is fully decoupled from the chassis, reducing the transmission of shocks and vibrations. Together with the suspension-mounted seat, this design helps minimize operator fatigue.
Adjustable controls, including the steering wheel, seat position, and optional height-adjustable pedal plate, allow operators to configure the workspace according to their preferences. The trucks also feature a wide, low step with a non-slip surface, supporting safe entry and exit during frequent warehouse tasks.
Storage compartments within the cabin provide additional space for tools or documentation used during warehouse operations.
Modular architecture supports service and digital integration
The reach trucks are built with a modular architecture that allows integration with warehouse IT systems through digital interfaces. The electronic system architecture also supports over-the-air software updates, enabling new features or system updates to be installed remotely.
Maintenance requirements are reduced through durable components, including induction-hardened mast guide rails and easily accessible service components that simplify routine servicing and reduce downtime.
The new Ri14–Ri18 models expand Linde Material Handling’s reach truck portfolio, providing a compact solution for companies seeking cost-efficient warehouse vehicles capable of supporting single- and two-shift logistics operations.
